transcend beyond therapy
About Transcend therapy
Transcend verb [tran·scend] - to rise above or go beyond the normal limits, exceed.
Transcend Therapy is a Boston based Black woman owned private practice offering tele-health mental health services. We aim to address the unique mental health needs and challenges faced by Black + Brown folx.
Our culturally competent telehealth services empower our community by providing an inclusive safe space for folx to explore, understand, and transcend their past, their trauma and their pain.
Transcend Therapy currently serves residents across the state of Massachusetts.
MEET The Founder and the therapist
Well hello there! I am glad you’re here :)
My name is Jaimee and I am passionate about helping individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds find healing and empowerment.
As a therapist of color, I value creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable space where you have the permission to be your full, authentic self.
While creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for exploration, I also gently encourage clients to confront patterns, beliefs, or behaviors that may be holding them back. This collaborative process helps clients build resilience, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change.
I embrace a holistic approach by supporting clients in developing a sense of personal wholeness through mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual health.
If you choose to heal with me, I hope to offer you:
A nurturing environment
The safety and permission to be yourself
Space and guidance to explore, understand and transcend your upbringing and experiences
Empathy paired with healthy challenging to foster growth and self-discovery
Insight and solutions to navigate life's challenges with greater harmony
A personalized path to personal growth and empowerment
Oh and some laughs! One thing about me, I love to laugh!
My commitment to self-care and continuous learning ensures that you receive the best support in your journey toward healing and empowerment. Join me to move forward with a renewed sense of resilience and purpose.
What does self-care look like for me?:
Minimizing my stressors

our Approach
Transcend Therapy provides therapy from a culturally sensitive psychodynamic lens, which is essential for the therapeutic process. Our past, upbringing and identities not only influence the way we show up in the world, but also the way the world perceives us.
The psychodynamic approach allows us to explore deep-rooted aspects of yourself, such as ongoing relationship patterns, interpersonal challenges, different facets of your personality, and more. Exploring these various factors leads to increased insight around how your early life experiences affect your present day.
In addition to the psychodynamic approach, we like to integrate solution-focused approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide practical solutions to your present-day challenges. CBT focuses on recognizing negative thought patterns and changing those thoughts, behaviors and feelings through concrete skills.

A Vision for Systemic Change
True change begins with understanding and dismantling systemic oppression. Through my work, I’ve sought to amplify the voices of those often unheard, advocating for equitable access to mental health services, housing and many other community resources.
Advocating for Policy Reform: Beyond direct service, I contribute to efforts aimed at reforming housing policies, increasing funding for shelters and mental health services, and ensuring vulnerable populations are treated with dignity and respect.
Collaborating for Impact: I currently partner with state agencies, community organizations, and grassroots initiatives to develop innovative, client-centered solutions.
This vision continues to guide my private practice, where I strive to not only provide exceptional care but also to contribute to a broader movement for equity and justice in mental health and housing services.
Before establishing Transcend Therapy, I dedicated over a decade to nonprofit community mental health work in Boston, where I gained invaluable experience addressing the needs of marginalized populations. This work has profoundly shaped my approach to therapy, emphasizing compassion, resilience, and systemic advocacy.
I still work closely with women experiencing severe mental health challenges, offering trauma-informed care and holistic support through clinically leading and supporting multiple shelters, fostering safe and dignified environments for those in crisis.
Most recently, working with Boston’s diverse migrant communities has been a cornerstone of my career in nonprofit mental health. I am deeply involved in ensuring culturally sensitive care through addressing the unique challenges faced by migrant populations, including housing instability, mental health barriers, and systemic inequities.
